Jan Thoreen Lewis | President

Jan Thoreen Lewis has spent her artistic career painting the scenes, wildlife, and people of the Arkansas River Valley. As an award-winning artist, her work communicates the majesty and drama of Colorado. Jan has been involved with Chaffee County Council on the Arts since it's inception in 1985, and her current position as the President of the Board reflects her desire to serve the artists of our area with opportunities for connection, creativity, and growth.
Sandy Horrocks | Vice President

Sandra grew up in Michigan but has also lived in New Jersey and England in addition to Colorado. She began learning photography while in New Jersey, picking it up and then walking away from it for several years. She finally became more serious in her quest to become a 'good' photographer at the end of her stay in England. Since learning that her passion lay in the more natural world she was able to study with several photographers who specialized in nature and landscape photography. She has participated in and won many awards for shows in Colorado and Kansas, is represented by Mission Trace Gallery in Lakewood, Colorado, and has a commission included in the collection at Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge. Sandra joined the board of Chaffee County Council on the Arts during a time of much change in this organization and the community. Her desire as a board member is to assist in providing more opportunities for all artists in our region
Judy Edmands | Secretary

Judy has been fortunate in her lifetime to have worked, lived and learned in the company of many who make art, or immerse themselves in it—as a way of thinking and being in the world. For many years, Judy had volunteered as unpaid staff, then in Board Leadership for an organization whose mission was “to create exchanges between art, artists, and audiences—that reveal life”. Observing the way artists walk in the world, their unique way of seeing and interpreting what they have seen (and not seen) gives a perspective that enriches Judy’s life immeasurably. Because a thriving “Arts Community” seems to be an essential ingredient in any healthy community, Judy chooses to serve on the CCA Board.

JoAnnette Sieve

JoAnnette Sieve, a local artist from Buena Vista, works mostly in oils
and pastels but enjoys watercolors and pencil as well.
She paints portraits of people as well as animals in their natural habitat
and frequently combines her talent for writing with her artwork.

Ms. Sieve sold her first oil painting when she was 12 years old. Since
then, art has been an important part of her life, winning her numerous
awards. Although much of her focus as an adult was on raising her family,
she managed to stay in the art world on a professional basis as an artist

artistic skills creating new work for her followers to enjoy.
