Jennie Noreen Omasta new owner of Rock Run Gallery

Jennie Noreen Omasta has purchased the Rock Run Gallery from Nora Larimer with the transition occurring in the fall of 2021. Jennie has been working at Rock Run Gallery since 2020 so has been able to learn about the business prior to purchasing the gallery. In a recent interview with Jennie, she discussed her vision for the gallery and her plans. She states, “I am looking forward to increasing community involvement and connection with local artists.” Her plans include a possible art walk, studio tour, and meet the artist events. She wants to maintain the same “feel” of the gallery and wall space will include her screen prints as well as Nora’s paintings. She said that Rock Run Gallery has established a loyal clientele and she hopes to maintain those customers by not making drastic changes to the gallery.

Jennie studied printmaking at the University of Puget Sound and began silkscreen printing in 2010. She loves to work with her hands and enjoys the laborious process that printmaking demands. For the last four years Jennie has been traveling to art festivals in the summer and working from her home studio in Buena Vista during the winter. It has been her dream to have her own gallery and though timing was sooner than expected, she is very excited to enter this new phase of her art career. She is looking forward to working on more large-scale pieces in the future and happy that she will have the space to display them at the gallery.

Jennie is planning an Opening Reception sometime in October so stay tuned for further details. We wish Jennie Noreen Omasta the best of luck in her new venture!
